& U.S. Preventative Services Task Force 
 

       U.S. suicide rates are currently at 50-year historical highs and likely underreported

       Nearly 50,000 deaths (3 attempts each minute; a completed suicide every 11 minutes)

       

       Current ideation-centered suicide screeners are ineffective to meet assessment needs

​

       Therefore, new suicide assessments cannot rely on traditional warning signs alone
